چکیده
Fruits and vegetables are an essential part of a healthy diet, providing humans with vitamins, phytonutrients, minerals. They significantly vulnerable, however, to post-harvest diseases caused by numerous fungal bacterial pathogens. These pathogens can cause significant quantitative qualitative losses from harvest consumption during the handling storage processes. Chemical fungicides commonly used but likely leave residues on produce, rendering short shelf-life such as berries, unsuitable for human consumption. Identifying eco-friendly methods control disease is, therefore, utmost importance. The presence antifungal constituents in roots Poncirus trifoliata extracts was detected thin layer chromatography-based bioautography. active were isolated identified bioautography assay-guided fractionation using flash chromatography followed spectroscopic techniques. In this study, xanthoxyletin, demethylsuberosin, dentatin, nordentatin, ponfolin, clausarin root extracts. activity these compounds moderate weak compared commercial fungicide captan. متن کاملChemical Composition and Antifungal Activity of Angelica sinensis Essential Oil against three Colletotrichum species
Chemical fungicides are an important component in disease management for most crops. As part of a program to discover natural product-based fungicides, several sensitive assay systems have been developed for the evaluation of naturally occurring antifungal agents. In this study, we focused on the discovery and evaluation of new natural product-based fungicides from Angelica sinensis (Dong Quai)...
متن کاملAntifungal Activity of a Synthetic Cationic Peptide against the Plant Pathogens Colletotrichum graminicola and Three Fusarium Species
A small cationic peptide (JH8944) was tested for activity against a number of pathogens of agricultural crops. JH8944 inhibited conidium growth in most of the tested plant pathogens with a dose of 50 μg/ml, although one isolate of Fusarium oxysporum was inhibited at 5 μg/ml of JH8944. Most conidia of Fusarium graminearum were killed within 6 hours of treatment with 50 μg/ml of JH8944. Germinati...
متن کاملAntifungal activity of medicinal plants against plant pathogenic fungus Colletotrichum falcatum
The antifungal activity of eight different medicinal plants namely Aloe vera, Ocimum sanctum, Cenetella asiatica, Piper betle, Calotropis gigantea, Vitex negundo, Ocimum basilicum and Azadirachta indica were tested against plant pathogenic fungus (red rot disease causing agent) Colletotrichum falcatum by agar well –diffusion method. The plants leaves were extracted with various solvents like ch...
متن کاملAntifungal activity of histatin-5 against non-albicans Candida species.
Fungicidal effects of histatin-5 against 26 oral isolates belonging to 5 non-albicans Candida species were examined. Fifty microM of histatin-5 killed more than 95% of Candida tropicalis and Candida guilliermondii isolates and more than 90% of Candida parapsilosis and Candida krusei. However, Candida glabrata was less sensitive to the peptide (mean 62.9%). Our results, taken together, demonstra...
